Sixers hit the road to Chicago

Basketball Betting Lines

02/20/2010 - (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Coming off one of their most impressive wins of the season, the Philadelphia 76ers will hit the road for four games starting with tonight's matchup against the Chicago Bulls at the United Center.

The 76ers ended a two-game losing streak with last night's 106-94 triumph over the Western Conference powerhouse San Antonio Spurs. Lou Williams provided a big spark late in the game, scoring 14 of his 20 points in the decisive fourth quarter for Philadelphia, which has won six of its last eight games.

Andre Iguodala filled the stat sheet with 20 points, nine rebounds and eight assists, while Elton Brand added 18 points and seven boards to keep the Sixers on track for this upcoming road swing.

"We don't have one guy. Whether it's Lou, Andre, Thad, Elton, it seems like when we play like this, everyone gets involved and helps close things," Philadelphia head coach Eddie Jordan said.

Philly will also visit the Warriors, Suns and Lakers, and is 11-16 away from the Wachovia Center this season. As far as the playoffs are concerned the Sixers are 6 1/2 games off the final spot in the East.

Meanwhile, the Bulls are tied with Miami for the sixth spot in the conference standings and have won three straight and five of six games, including Friday's 100-94 triumph at Minnesota.

Derrick Rose had 19 points, eight rebounds and five assists, and Kirk Hinrich contributed 20 points and five assists in the win. Chicago made several moves at Thursday's trade deadline to clear salary cap space for the upcoming free agent market, dealing John Salmons to Milwaukee, along with a pair of second- round picks, for forwards Hakim Warrick and Joe Alexander. Chicago also sent Tyrus Thomas to Charlotte for guards Acie Law and Flip Murray as well as a future first-round pick.

Warrick had 10 points and Luol Deng chipped in 18 for the Bulls, who hope to see the rest of their new players suit up tonight.

"Our defense was a lot better in the second half," said Chicago head coach Vinny Del Negro. "We tightened it up and I liked the way we went at them at both ends of the court. We got some good stops and were able to come back down and convert on the fastbreak."

The 2009-10 season series between Chicago and Philadelphia is even at a game apiece, with each team holding serve as the host. The 76ers will try to snap a two-game slide as the guest in this series.

The Bulls are 16-9 in the Windy City this season.
